The Sanctity of Life and the Eternal Bond of Parenthood
As a volunteer prayer directive and devotional writer with The Life Room, I’ve spent countless hours on my knees—praying, reflecting, and writing about the sacredness of life and the enduring reality that parents are parents forever. These aren’t just poetic reflections. They are Spirit-led revelations that have shaped my understanding of God’s design for life—and His deep compassion for parents silently carrying the pain of abortion.
To the reader, this is more than a message. It’s a call. A call to stand for the sacredness of every human life and to extend grace to those wounded by loss. It’s a call to intercede, to heal, and to believe that God still redeems.
Scripture speaks clearly of the divine origin of life. Job 10:10–11 (TLV) marvels, “Did You not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese, clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews?” Psalm 139:13-15 echoes, “For You have created my conscience… I was made in the secret place.” And in Job 33:4 (TLV), Elihu declares, “The Ruach [Spirit] of God has made me; the breath of Shaddai [the Almighty] gives me life.” These aren’t metaphors—they are blueprints. And today, science confirms what scripture revealed long ago. Did you know that at the moment of conception, a flash of light—known as zinc sparks—erupts in the womb? Even under a microscope, the miracle of life reveals God’s glory.
But the sanctity of life goes beyond biology. It testifies to the eternal bond of parenthood.
Through my writings for The Life Room, I’ve explored this truth again and again: parents are parents forever. Biologically, it’s seen in the phenomenon of microchimerism—fetal cells that remain in a mother’s body for decades, carrying the child’s unique DNA like a permanent echo of life. Spiritually, Jeremiah 1:5 assures us that God knew every child before they were formed in the womb—and continues to know them still. Emotionally, that connection lingers. Whether spoken or buried, the grief, guilt, or ache felt by post-abortive mothers and fathers reveals the same truth: the bond remains.
And where the bond is real, so is the pain of loss.
Abortion deeply disrupts the sanctity of life—but it also wounds the soul of a parent. These parents become the silent mourners of our time, grieving often alone. But hear this: the sanctity of life is not just a banner to be raised in protest—it’s also the foundation for restoration. Romans 2:4 (TLV) reminds us, “... God’s kindness leads you to repentance.” And repentance isn’t shame—it’s freedom. This freedom comes with acknowledging our rebellion against Him, it is a holy invitation to receive grace, confront the pain and reclaim our God-given identity.
I’ve walked with women and men who’ve carried this ache for decades. And I’ve witnessed the miracle of what happens when they say yes to the healing process. When they stop running from the pain, and run instead to the arms of the Father. That moment—where mercy meets truth—changes everything. And suddenly, their story becomes more than survival. It becomes a living testimony of HIStory in their lives.
As 2 Chronicles 7:14 (TLV) promises, “when My people, over whom My name is called, humble themselves and pray… then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” And I believe that healing begins with hearts—one at a time.
Now imagine the power of this healing multiplied—parents across the Body of Messiah, boldly sharing their stories, not from shame but from shalom. Revelation 12:11 (TLV) says, “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” That’s not just scripture—it’s strategy. Their stories could reshape the narrative around abortion, affirm the value of every life, and testify to a grace that is greater than our deepest wounds.
That’s why I wrote Abortion Healing: 31-Day Start to Your Recovery and Spiritual Growth—a daily invitation to walk with God through the pain, toward healing. It’s not about reliving the past. It’s about reclaiming the future.
