About ALIES.
Alberta Life Issues Educational Society (ALIES) is a faith-based, interdenominational non-profit organization and a federally registered charity. We operate throughout the province of Alberta. ALIES gathers, develops and distributes information on a broad range of life issues. These include abortion, euthanasia, reproduction technologies, pregnancy, birth control, and human sexuality.
ALIES is governed by a Board of Directors and operated by an Executive Director.
Our mission is to educate Albertans on the sanctity and dignity of all human life from conception to natural death to create and promote a culture of life.
The Life House
A Calgary Ministry
Life House provides educational programming and training to equip the prolife community for meaningful conversations. Life House is also a place where pro-life groups gather and work as a collective.
The Back Porch
An Edmonton Ministry
An honest conversation about abortion, adoption, parenting, and pregnancy can be challenging. Our ministry provides pregnancy options information, referrals, and material and emotional support to pregnant women and their families. We do not refer for abortions.
Meet the Team.

Emily Jones
Executive Director
Emily’s background is in aviation, and she initially moved to Edmonton for a flight instructor job. Through some church connections, she was introduced to ALIES and began volunteering, first as a prayer warrior and later as a client advocate. Through a pilgrimage to Portugal for World Youth Day in 2023, she came to eventually leave her career in aviation to transition into the life saving work of ALIES!

Rachel Atumisi
The Back Porch Coordinator
Rachel was introduced to the pro-life movement in 2011 by a friend who invited her to pray in front of the abortion clinic. From that moment on, more opportunities to attend pro-life events started unfolding in her life. Rachel did not choose the pro-life movement; the pro-life movement chose Rachel. She is grateful to the Lord for the opportunity He gave her to minister to these ladies who are facing emotional challenges. Rachel has a Bachelor degree in Sociology and completed a bilingual clerk certificate.

Mary Dominguez
Outreach Coordinator
Mary Dominguez currently works at the Edmonton Back Porch location as the Outreach Coordinator. Ever since she was first exposed to youth ministry growing up, she has had a heart to get involved and help others encounter the heart of Christ. She has led multiple women’s ministries and faith studies and she is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Catholic Studies at Newman Theological College. Mary is looking forward to serving the vulnerable and joining the amazing team at ALIES.

Mandy Paul
Administrative Assistant
Mandy strongly believes in the dignity of every life and has felt called for as long as she can remember to help women and their unborn babies. Before she came to ALIES, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology at St. Mary’s University. Her heart for service has been shaped through her time with NET Canada and St. Therese Institute where she grew in faith, leadership, and a love for authentic connection. Through her involvement with ALIES, Mandy hopes to use her natural listening skills and God-given empathy for the kingdom of God and to do whatever He asks of her in this ministry to the best of her ability.

Calla Hindle
Kensington Coordinator
Calla Hindle joined the Pro-Life movement at 17 by participating in CCBR’s high school summer bootcamp. She continued to volunteer with local pro-life groups and completed a two-month internship with CCBR after high school. This internship provided an invaluable opportunity to have daily conversations about abortion with the Canadian public. Following her summer at CCBR, Calla found it difficult to return to a conventional job, acutely aware of the reality of abortion in Canada. Driven by her love for women and babies, she sought further involvement. Through church connections and God’s providence, Calla was introduced to ALIES and joined staff in October 2025.
