Joanne Byfield - President

Joanne Byfield has been a prominent member of the pro-life movement for many years. Joanne came to Alberta from Ontario in 1978 and worked as a reporter for Alberta Reportmagazine, covering energy, business and schools for the next 25 years. She hosted a radio talk show on CJCA in Edmonton and Shine FM in Calgary in 2001. In 1995, she was the spokesman for the Committee to End Tax-Funded Abortions in Alberta. She served as President of Alberta Pro-Life from 1997 until 2001 and was re-elected President in November 2002 completing her term on the APL board in 2004. Joanne was the President of LifeCanada from 2004 until 2008. She also served on the board of ALIES from 2004 to 2010 and returned to the board in 2011. She is now Associate Producer for Edmonton and Calgary for Crossroads Television (CTS-TV). Joanne lives north of Edmonton with her husband Link and the youngest of their four children.

  • Dr. Robert Hauptman, BMSc, MD - Director

    Dr. Hauptman is actively involved in CME activities. He has given over 500 presentations to physicians and health care professionals throughout Canada on subjects ranging from asthma to COPD to chronic pain management. He also participates in student education in medicine, pharmacy and nursing.

    Ken Nixon was born and raised in Calgary and moved to Edmonton in 1978. He worked as a carpenter in commercial construction and in 1980 was employed by the City of Edmonton.
