Ken Nixon - Director

Ken Nixon was born and raised in Calgary and moved to Edmonton in 1978. He worked as a carpenter in commercial construction and in 1980 was employed by the City of Edmonton. He has done several types of work with the City including carpentry, locksmith, contractor inspector and structural foreman.  His involvement with pro-life was greatly influenced by his wife Patty. He accompanied his wife to Life Chain, Alberta Pro-Life, Edmonton Pro-Life and Alberta Life Issues Educational Society (ALIES) events. Ken was nominated on the board of ALIES in 2006, shortly after the vision started for a ministry to reach out to abortion minded women with appointments at the Morgentaler Clinic. This ministry became known as “The Back Porch” ministry, because it faces the clinic. He is married to his wife Patty since 1980 and together they have three boys, two daughters-in-law and three grandchildren.
